Invitation to Tender: Food and Postal Packaging Supplier

At St Mawes Bakery, we are proud to be a multi-generational family bakery based in the beautiful Cornish fishing village of St Mawes. For generations we have handcrafted Cornish pasties, artisan breads, cakes, and baked goods using high-quality Cornish ingredients wherever possible.

Following our recent rebrand, relaunch of our postal service, and continued growth online, we are now looking to establish a partnership with a reliable and quality-focused packaging supplier.

Recently nominated for Family Business of the Year, we are excited about the future of the bakery and are seeking suppliers who can support our expanding business with high-quality food and postal packaging solutions.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome proposals from suppliers who can provide one or more of the following products, ideally with branded or custom-print options available.

Retail and Food Service Packaging

• Greaseproof paper bags (approximately 10” x 10”)
• Food-safe kraft or paper bags (non-greaseproof)
• 12oz disposable hot drink cups
• 12oz disposable cold drink cups
• Lids for takeaway cups
• Burger or salad boxes for breakfast baps and sandwiches

Postal Packaging

• Insulated or temperature-controlled food postal boxes suitable for shipping fresh uncooked pasties
• Postal boxes for baked goods including saffron buns, cakes, and pastries

Packaging for postal products must be capable of maintaining safe food temperatures for a minimum of 48 hours during transit.

• Consistent product quality
• Competitive pricing
• Low minimum order quantities where possible
• Environmentally conscious packaging options
• Branding and custom print capabilities
• Reliable lead times and delivery

Experience working with bakeries, food businesses, or online food brands would be an advantage.

Our Estimated Volumes

As our bakery continues to grow, so do our packaging requirements.

Estimated annual usage for 2025/26 includes:

• 19,000 takeaway cups
• 33,000 greaseproof bags
• 24,000 kraft or paper bags
• 5,000 burger or sandwich boxes
